St. Clair Village is a neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, located on the western side of the city. The neighborhood is bounded by Woodville Avenue to the north, West End Avenue to the south, Pauline Avenue to the east, and Oakwood Street to the west.
St. Clair Village was originally built in 1954 as a public housing development. It consisted of low-rise buildings with a total of 789 units. The neighborhood was home to a predominantly African American population.
In 2007, St. Clair Village underwent a major redevelopment project, which demolished the original public housing buildings and replaced them with a mix of rental and homeownership units. The new development also includes commercial and retail spaces.
Today, St. Clair Village is a diverse neighborhood with a mix of residents, including families, young professionals, and retirees. The community is located close to downtown Pittsburgh and has access to a variety of amenities, including public transportation, parks, and shopping centers.
